Toxic Box Office Collection Day 8: Yash Film Crosses ₹229 Crore in India

Yash’s film Toxic has completed its first week in theatres. After a strong opening, the film witnessed a decline in its daily collections, but its earnings showed a slight improvement on the seventh day.

How Much Did Toxic Earn on Day 7?

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic has had a mixed run at the box office during its first week. The film opened strongly, earning around ₹101.10 crore on its first day.

However, there was a sharp fall in the collection of the movie on the second day, which earned roughly ₹37.65 crore. The third day saw the collection amounting to about ₹27.20 crore, and the fourth day recorded around ₹25.15 crore.

On Day 6, the film’s collection fell into the single-digit range. However, Tuesday brought a slight improvement. According to early trade estimates, Toxic earned approximately ₹8.20 crore on its seventh day across all languages.

Hindi Version Leads the Collections

The movie “Toxic” is made in five languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. From amongst all the language versions, the Hindi version has performed the best.

The Hindi version continues to contribute the maximum revenue from the domestic front. However, the Kannada version has not lagged behind either. The Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions have also contributed to the bottom line.

Though Toxic has seen a fall in its day-to-day takings, the overall success during its first week has enabled it to beat the opening week revenues of a number of popular Hindi movies.

According to the available trade figures, Toxic has moved ahead of films including Sultan, Chhaava, Dhurandhar, Tiger Zinda Hai and Sanju in terms of opening-week collections.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.

Set against the backdrop of Goa during the period of Portuguese rule, the film follows the rise and fall of a powerful gangster. The movie received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.
