Clika: There is a drumbeat around Clika (2026) the first project of innovating music producer Jimmy Humilde. Humilde is well known to change the face of the Mexican-American world of music and now presents his first feature film ever under his own label, mixing a heart beating rhythm with emotional and rough drama.
The movie tracks the story of Chito (who is portrayed by the emerging talent JayDee) that is desperately trying to become a musician with great ambitions. His life is reversed within the same moment because of his performance of a song, which becomes a viral video. He seizes his chance to make a niche in the combustible new wave of Mexican-American music, however, fame comes at cost. Before he knows it, Chito is involved in a very risky situation that makes him wonder what he is out to seek in all his hard work in pursuing the American Dream.
A Story of Ambition, Tradition, and Self-Discovery
Clika is more than a musical film that is directed by Michael Greene. It is about the fear to lose your foundation and be in pursuit of a bigger thing. It is co-written by Greene, Sean McBride and by Humilde himself, and it is a welcome mixture of ambition, cultural pride and the dramatic high stakes.
Star-Studded Cast
The cast alongside JayDee boast serious punch with Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) and Peter Greene (Pulp Fiction) and rap legend Percy Master P Miller amongst others. The line up also included Vivian Lamolli, Bourke Floyd, and Paul Sinacore; a mix of veteran and the new talent in the field of Latin music in Hollywood.
Production & Release
The film is already making ripples among Latin music and urban drama enthusiasts as it was produced by Columbia pictures, Everyone Can Eat, and Rancho Humilde. Due to drug content, language, and sexual material, the movie is subject to rating restricted under R; however, Clika tries to convey the best as well as worst of the world of music with as much realism as it can.
Release Date: Expected in 2026 in the United States.
