Diane Ladd Dies at 89″ Diane Ladd, a Hollywood veteran, died on November 3, 2025 when she was 89, just three months after the death of her husband, Robert Charles Hunter. Hunter is the dead former PepsiCo CEO who passed away July 31 at the age of 77 on his visit to his children in Texas.

The devastating news was delivered by her daughter, Diane it was a heartbreaking news by Laura Dern, who said,
My mother died this morning, as I was with her in her house in Ojai, California. She was the most unbelievable daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and caring soul. We had been blessed indeed to possess her. She is flying now with her angels.

In 1999, Ladd and Hunter got married and formed Excel Entertainment the same year. Hunter had the only on-screen appearance in the 2006 film Inland Empire by David Lynch, in which he starred with Diane Ladd and Laura Dern.

This was the third and the longest marriage of Diane Ladd. She has been married between 1960 to 1969 and between 1969 and 1976 to Bruce Dern who is the father of Laura Dern and to William A. Shea, Jr.

Diane and Laura did not have a family relationship only, and they worked together on the screen too often. Cosmetics The joint projects they produce are Wild at Heart (1990), Rambling Rose (1991), Citizen Ruth (1996), Inland Empire (2006) and the television series Enlightened (2011–2013).

In interviews, Laura has said that numerous times Diane had urged her to have a sensible career, joking that she could be a lawyer, a doctor, a missionary but never be an actress.
