3. Annabelle (2014) – The Weakest Link in the Conjuring Chain
The original Annabelle movie might have brought the dreaded doll to the world, but much to its dismay, it did not deliver on the expectations. This 2014 release, the first spinoff of The Conjuring, rested on the uninspired jump scare and the excess pollution of the horror tropes.
With Annabelle Wallis playing the role of Mia, a new mother whose soul is desired by an evil power, the movie is one of the latest films on exorcisms. Even though the scene set in the basement does bring some tension, the rest of the film is bland and unoriginal. Critics felt the same as their fans and most of them were afraid that this could be the last we have seen of Annabelle in her own adventure. Fortunately, they were mistaken.
2. Annabelle Comes Home (2019) – A Spooky Step Up
This was what they wanted. Annabelle Comes Home has at last provided audience with a terrific haunted house adventure. This 2019 movie focuses on the notorious Warren artifact room and the locking away of Annabelle, that is, she used to be.
After Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) go away, their daughter Judy (Mckenna Grace), her babysitter Mary Ellen (Madison Iseman) and the latter friend Daniela (Katie Sarife) are in the house alone. Big mistake.
As soon as Daniela foolishly opens the glass case of Annabelle, she triggers a paranormal blast that awakens all the cursed objects in the house. It is after this that leads to a night of absolute terror, well, that and a lot of fun as there are a few new creepy beings being presented here in clear foreshadowing of possible spin offs.
The one which is not as horrible as the other movie, which is going to be on our list, Annabelle Comes Home is entertaining enough and is a rollercoaster of scares.
1. Annabelle: Creation (2017) – The Scariest One Yet!
Annabelle: Creation is, without a doubt, the most impressive part of the Annabelle trilogy. Under the direction of David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Shazam!), this 2017 prequel took all the things that worked in The Conjuring and cranked the volume.
The movie takes place in the 1950s and the plot revolves around a bunch of orphans and nun who became the residents of a house of a mourning dollmaker and his wife. There they meet Annabelle and a lot of evil. Sandberg does a great job of creating an atmosphere, creating dread, and making the old house spooky with its sinister secrets.
The acting especially on the part of Lulu Wilson is all good. And the cold finale of the movie is tied with the happenings of the previous Annabelle film in a spectacular fashion. It is not merely a loosely directed sequel the horror franchise deserved, rather it is a worthy salvager of the franchise with its total horror kicks and emotions.

Following her horrifying introduction, Annabelle has aided Warner Bros. and James Wan in accumulating almost $2 billion across the globe with a joint budget of money of under $140 million. Golden horror.
Although she literally serves as the mouthpiece of an even more villainous demonic being, Annabelle creepiness has made her an attractive figure with regards to attracting other supernatural beings within the Conjurverse. And with her three movies earning 790 million dollars worldwide it can be expected that we may see more of this possessed doll.
