Fish Venkat: Hyderabad, July 18, 2025 – The Telugu film industry is left with a feeling of loss in the demise of one of the most adorable comedians and character artists, Fish Venkat, at the tender age of 53, as result of multiple organ failure, after battling with serious kidney-related diseases. He died in a hospital in Hyderabad on the day in Friday, July, 18.
Who Was Fish Venkat?
Born Venkat Raj, he earned the affectionate nickname Fish Venkat after a memorable comedic scene involving a fish market that became a fan favorite. Known for his spot-on comedic timing, sharp dialogue delivery, and distinctive Telangana accent, Venkat was a staple in many Telugu films ā delivering performances that often left audiences in splits.
Career That Spanned Over 100 Films
The filmography of Fish Venkat depicts that he performed in some of the box office hit movies like Gabbar Singh, Adhurs, DJ Tillu, Dhee, Kushi, Bunny, Hyper, Love Birds, and Mirapakay. In the last couple of months, Fish Venkat had been enduring severe kidney and liver problems. He had regular dialysis but the condition worsened in spite of it hence the hospitalization that culminated into ventilator support.
It was suggested by doctors that the patient should go through an emergency kidney transplant but there was no possible donor option available in time. His daughter Shravanthi issued a public plea seeking financial support where it was disclosed that the surgical operation would cost approximately 50 lakh (Rs) rupees. Suggestions that actor Prabhas gave full amount emerged with many reports but the family later added that it was not true.

Despite the challenges, the family did receive support from the film fraternity. Power star Pawan Kalyan, actor Vishwak Sen, and even a minister from the Telangana government came forward with financial assistance.
