“Some films are not watched, they are felt. Saiyaara is one such journey.”
In his favorite genre, intense romantic drama, it is understandable that when one of the prominent directors such as Mohit Suri, the initiator of Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, comes back to this story one will predict heartbreak, moving sounds, and multifaceted feelings. what he does with Saiyaara is one step further. And he does not only present us with a love story. He provides us with a soul.
A Debut Like No Other
The most excited feature of Saiyaara prior to release was its new pairing: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, two unknown actors without a single promotion but with a lot of hype. and how a debut!
- Ahaan Panday comes out on the screen like a storm-Raw, restless and extremely magnetic. So, whether it is a smoldering glare or a flare-up of emotion, he is equally convincing and vulnerable as he plays Krish Kapoor, a tremendously talented yet tortured musician.
- Aneet Padda, in his turn, gives a literally poetic performance. She is a spellbinder, like a lyricist called Vaani, who is a kind-hearted and ambitious person who finds herself deeply in love in her soft-spoken voice with the coarsest of voices and whose heartbreak is mirrored in her Alzheimer disease, present at a young age in her life. All the words, all the cry, all the meltdown… are heart-breakingly real.
Their chemistry? Electrifying. You do not see Krish and Vaani falling in love, you experience it in their looks & in their silences.
Music That Breathes the Soul of the Film
Mohit Suri is indeed the maestro of emotion and music is his pen and Saiyaara is the canvas which is wet with music.

- The song named as Saiyaara is not merely a song but the main stream of the movie. It is also a chartbuster in itself and makes emotional scenes unforgettable.
- Some songs integrate perfectly into the story and never sound as something out of place or overplayed. Music does not serve as a decoration here, it is a narrator.
The man behind the music, Mithoon should be given a standing ovation. It was either the chilling piano or the gentle use of strings; each note hits.
Story & Screenplay: Familiar, Yet Fresh
Yes, Saiyaara follows a somewhat familiar template of love, loss, and healing. But it dares to dive deeper.
Krish is the new star, a struggling child star to be more precise, dual fighting with a childhood trauma and creativity insecurities.
Vaani is a recovered broken engagement, and she is fighting some disease that will one day take away her memory. Music acts as a bridge when they meet by fate and falls in love becomes the remedy.
Their road is dirty, romantic, and tragic humanly. Suri is not afraid of weight in emotions. Interestingly, he accepts it, particularly, the second half where the condition of Vaani goes to the background.
Direction, Editing & Cinematography
- The story is written and experienced in the best form, as Mohit Suri brings emotion and atmosphere together and words are partly silent.
- The cinematography by Vikas Sivaraman portrays rain wet streets, dusky rooftops, and misty concert halls as some characters.
- The editing is however a bit weak- the movie would have done with a bit of retouches, particularly in the second half, which is protracted.
What Sets Saiyaara Apart?
In this age of exaggerated, glossy romances, Saiyaara takes the risk and stays sweet, down-to-earth and flawed. It makes you remember of:
Watch Trailer
- The intensity of Aashiqui 2
- The soulful loneliness of Rockstar
- The intimate heartbreak of U Me Aur Hum
Nevertheless, it does not feel like a copy. Saiyaara cuts its niche. It is a typical Mohit Suri film – albeit – an innate maturity and vulnerability not even he has come up with so far.
Twitter Verdict: Saiyaara is the Moment
- “Saiyaara made me cry, made me believe in love again.“
- “Ahaan Panday = STAR MATERIAL. Aneet Padda = National Crush Incoming!“
- “Finally, a love story that isn’t afraid to break your heart while healing it at the same time.“
Flaws? Yes, But Forgivable
- A few subplots (like Vaani’s ex-boyfriend) feel undercooked.
- The pacing in the second half lags, especially post-interval.
- A more nuanced screenplay could have added depth to supporting characters like Krish’s father or the bandmates.
But none of these derail the emotional impact. Saiyaara is not about perfection. It’s about feeling, and in that, it triumphs.
Box Office Buzz: BLOCKBUSTER Loading…
With 3.8 lakh tickets sold and ₹9 crore+ opening, Saiyaara is already one of the biggest openers of 2025, outperforming big-budget films like Housefull 5 and inching close to Salman’s Sikandar. Word-of-mouth is golden, and the weekend is expected to witness a major surge.
Final Verdict: Watch It for the Heart, Stay for the Soul
Saiyaara is a rare film that doesn’t shout—it whispers. And in those whispers, it breaks your heart, stitches it back, and makes you hum its songs long after the credits roll.
Whether you’re a fan of old-school romance or modern love stories with emotional heft, Saiyaara has something for you. It announces the arrival of two promising stars and reclaims Mohit Suri’s throne in the genre he rules.
FilmyHigh Review Rating: 4.5/5
Final Word: Ahaan Panday & Aneet Padda are not just newcomers. They are the new face of Bollywood romance.
📢 Don’t miss it. Watch it. Feel it. Live it.
