Who Was Sarabjit Singh?
Sarabjit Singh worked as a farmer in Bhikhiwind before his untoward encounter. During 1990 he crossed the India-Pakistan border by mistake after drinking and Pakistani law enforcement found and detained him.
However the soldiers realised their mistake when they discovered he was not part of the militant group. The real target being searched for was Manjit Singh but Sarabjit was taken as the wrong match.
 Arrest & False Charges
The Pakistani police coerced Sarabjit through their violent tactics and made him admit to crimes that he did not perform. Authorities sentenced him to die for espionage and terrorism activities during 1991 trials. Although he claimed his innocence nobody believed him.’

His body was returned to India and given a hero’s farewell.
