Senior actor Satish Shah died on Saturday at the age of 74 because of kidney failure. On Saturday afternoon Satish fell ill and he had gone through a kidney transplant some time ago. He was taken to Hinduja hospital in Mumbai where he was pronounced to be dead. His funeral will be performed on Sunday afternoon at the Pawan Hans burning ground.
Satish Shah was a famous actor with comic appearances in such television programs as Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Ye Jo Hai Zindagi. His comic appearances in movies such as Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Main Hoon Na among many more were also welcomed.
Sarabhai vs Sarabhai made him a household name and exposed him to a new generation altogether and he still receives love of it till his dying days despite the fact that the show ceased to air more than a decade ago.

I can still not digest that Satish ji is dead – I have no more words to say except that I have lost my father. A man full of life and humour. It is a vast loss to the industry and us.

Director Ashoke Pandit went to Instagram and shared an image of the deceased actor. He has also released a video indicating the situation of the death of Shah. In the video, he stated: I have a sad news to tell you. We have lost our friend, a marvellous actor Satish Shah, who died of kidney failure, one day awhile ago, abruptly at home. He was admitted in Hinduja hospital, Shivaji Park. He has passed away.
The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) validated the information on the death of Satish and posted on X (the previous twitter) that CINTAA condoles the death of Satish Shah ji (member since 1985).
Madhu Shah, his designer wife survives Satish. He made his final appearance in the revival of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai in 2017.
