Ram Charan Game Changer Movie Review: Why the Audience Rejected It

Ram Charan Game Changer Movie Review

Director: S. Shankar
Cast: Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Srikanth
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)

“Game Changer” is yet another Telugu political drama by S. Shankar that whips up quite a storm with action and emotions. Ram Charan dons dual roles in this movie, which boasts a celebrity cast such as Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, and Srikanth. It depicts a storyline where justice is fought for against corruption in an utterly corrupt political system.

What’s the Story About?

This is the tale of Ram Nandan (Ram Charan), an honest IAS officer, who wants to clean up the corrupt political system. His life becomes entangled with that of his father Appanna (also Ram Charan) who had fought a similar fight years ago.

On one hand is a mighty political family consisting of Bobbili Satyamurthy (Srikanth) and his two sons, Muni Manikyam (Jayaram) and Mopidevi (SJ Suryah). The struggle between them upside down leads to chaos and greed. In all, shines bright as Ram Nandan, an intelligent and determined man who pits himself against the corrupt system that is the world he inhabits.

Ram Charan’s Powerful Performance

In a double role as Ram Nandan and Appanna, Ram Charan literally takes away everyone’s accolades. As Ram Nandan, he plays the role of a very strong and confident officer. He goes unforgotten as Appanna, a simple man with a speech-impairment. The scenes of Appanna remind the audiences of Ram Charan’s magnificent performance in Rangasthalam.

A Villain to Remember

SJ Suryah as Mopidevi comes up as the best in the worst of his lines. He is cunning, dangerous, and sometimes witty to the extreme. The intense clashes of him with Ram Charan are some of the movie’s best moments.

Other Performances

  • Anjali:Even though Anjali appears in few scenes, she performs efficiently as Parvathy, wife of Appanna.
  • Kiara Advani: She brightens the screen with her voice, and especially in the songs. But there is not much she can do with her character in the story.
  • Srikanth and Jayaram: They put in some great acts and contribute to the intensity of the drama by the membership in a political family.

Visuals and Music

“Game Changer” is visually very appealing. Tirru has shot the film in a way that every scene looks larger than life, stunning to behold.

Another highlight is Thaman’S music. Tracks “Jaragandi” and “Naanaa Hyraanaa” are peppy and catchy, while the background score heightens tension and excitement in drama and action.

What Works Well?

  1. Ram Charan’s Dual Role: Exceptionally portrayed Ram Nandan and Appanna.
  2. The Villain: Mopidevi’s characterization is sophisticated, and SJ Suryah has made the character somehow engaging.
  3. Stunning Visuals: Definitely, it is very impressive in terms of the scale and cinematography.
  4. Powerful Music:Thaman does an impressive job of scoring every scene.
  5. Relevant Themes: Makes the story meaningful regarding corruption and justice.

Predictable Story: A cliche story follows the general pathways; hence it becomes less surprising.

Kiara Advani’s Role: Her character was capable of more.

Emotionally Distant: Many scenes lack the depth to really jolt one emotionally.

Pacing Issues: The first half feels slow and a bit rushed at times.

Final Thoughts

“Game Changer” is a great cinematic film that is a visual treat with great performances of Ram Charan and SJ Surya. While correlating with vital issues like corruption and justice, unfortunately, the storyline becomes predictable, and the pace of the film makes it not a masterpiece. For enthusiasts for political dramas along with Ram Charan’s performance, the film is worth a watch, but certainly not a great impact on others.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) – It is good for enjoying the feel of scale and performances but less in revolution.
