Robbie Williams Biopic Better Man
And in an American biopic Better Man the legendary British pop star went really giddy. To make things crazier, they cast him inside, playing a chimpanzee, just to make it a wild turn of creativity because people-talk, especially the Hollywood moguls-can’t help but debate about it.
From pop royalty to Hollywood’s red carpet.
Great performer, excellent music – Robbie Williams, who was so full of zest in his live performances, has found a new enthusiasm in movies as well. He was there at the recently held Governors’ Awards in LA, rubbing shoulders with Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Angelina Jolie as he opens a new page in what has already been an illustrious career.

“I’m just so pumped and excited, totally blown away by everything,” Williams said, comparing his first film gig to the rush of being a fresh artist on the scene.
A Monkey’s Story. Twist in Better Man:
Directed by Michael Gracey, the visionary behind The Greatest Showman, Better Man offers a fresh take on the biopic genre. Chronicling Williams’ journey from his Take That days to his record-breaking Knebworth concerts in 2003, the film stands out for its unconventional depiction of the singer as a chimpanzee.

This rare imagery was not only a sensational thing. Gracey noted,
“Rob usually calls himself a ‘performing monkey.’ That made me think of showing him how he sees himself rather than how everybody else does.”
Williams happily accepted his proposal, although the initial attempt of being a lion was discarded in humor.
Bring the monkey to life.
The chimpanzee was designed by the visual effects team at Weta, an extremely experienced company that had taken care of Gollum’s work in The Lord of the Rings. Employing some combination of motion capture and CGI, English actor Jonno Davies supplied voice and even motion for the character, but the chimpanzee eyes are modelled directly after the owner’s, Williams’, an almost intimate gesture.

So, Williams was going to play the role himself first, but then family stuff made him back off. “The thought of being away from my family for months was too much,” he said, but he’s still super involved in the film’s creative vision.
The Not-So-Great Side of Being Famous
Better Man totally delves into the harder parts of Williams’ life. His struggles with mental health issues, addiction, and mistakes are all included, alongside a really touching bit of his thing with All Saints’ Nicole Appleton.
The emotional scenes that take up one half of the film were while discussing Williams about his father, Peter Conway. Being portrayed as having all defects, Williams said he would get pretty close, and also stated, “As it is with everybody’s childhood, like the Philip Larkin poem, ‘They mess you up your mum and dad.’ And I’m messing my kids up.”
Hollywood Locks In The Ears
However, better triumph will forever be written into the record by Williams: for all that the artist once quipped that he was overlooked in the US, this poetic victory in the Hollywood debut could not have made it too lofty to loft over. Better Man has already been tipped for nominations for its song Forbidden Road at the Golden Globes and will be vying for a spot in the shortlist for the Oscars.

The singer mixed up the movie’s theme: “the greatest hits of my trauma for the TikTok generation,” with an ironic style-hence his career.
“Better Man” releases on December 26, and it is evident that the adventure from boyband fame to Hollywood stardom has been traveled by Robbie Williams, so it is messy, winding, and very signaturely him. And if there were an Oscar for “Best Musical Monkey,” he would have been a sure winner.
