Performances
- Venkatesh (Y.D. Raju) – Venkatesh, in this movie, gives his best and does a good job as Y.D. Raju. He seems perfect for this role because he has done similar roles already. His comedy timing and dialogue delivery are just impeccable, especially during emotional and action sequences.
- Aishwarya Rajesh (Wife) – Aishwarya, the innocent and possessive wife, is just wonderful. Her performance in the first half is absolutely worth special mentions for bringing warmth and actuality to the character.
- Meenakshi Chaudhary (Ex-Girlfriend) –Meenakshi has an assertive delivery in the role of the ex-girlfriend and cop. Her work is proof enough that the laurels she had garnered for the role in ‘Lucky Baskhar’ have added some more confidence level to her game, which is visible while opposite to the two veterans, like Venkatesh and Aishwarya
- Bulliraju – he was the childhood hero as an actor to play Bulliraju and steal scenes that had him in them-the innocent as also the comic segments. The characterization does add lots of charm up to the movie.
Technical Aspects
- Music – The music of the film is one of its strongest points. Composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, the songs are refreshing and bring a nostalgic feel. The track “Godari Gattu Meeda” is a standout, and its lively vibe resonates well with the festive mood.
- Cinematography – Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is quite run of the mill. Though some scenes look good enough, the entire production value looks like it is on a shoestring budget.
- Editing – The editing was dull, especially in the pre-interval and the second half of the film. At certain places, the film’s pace slows down unnecessarily and that could have been avoided with better editing.
Positives (Highlights)
- Comedy Sequences – Venkatesh’s comedy timing and the chemistry between Venkatesh and Aishwarya Rajesh bring so much fun moments to the movie..
- Music – “Godari Gattu Meeda” is a chartbuster, and the background score adds depth to the scenes.
- Venkatesh and Aishwarya Rajesh’s Performances –Both the actors have given some great performances. Aishwarya’s character is very relatable for all married women.
- Bulliraju’s Sequences – The Bulliraju child artiste’s sequences in the first half are full of hilarious and contribute maximum to the movie’s entertainment quotient.
Negatives (Weaknesses)
- Forced Comedy in the Second Half – Some comedies in the second half appear forced and the comedy flow in the movie gets broken.
- Upendra Limaye’s Overacting –The second half by the actor Upendra Limaye is boisterous, and the effect reduces in general.
- Weak Storyline – The second half of the film lacks a strong storyline. Some parts of the film are also hasty, and some have no logic in them. That makes the film difficult to follow sometimes.
Film Analysis
Perfection with simple story-telling drenched in humor runs rampant through Anil Ravipudi’s films, and, such is his way, he continues to follow some of those same traits even with his latest addition. The first half of the film is hilarious with a tune and a few comedy sequences that are weaving it seamlessly. However, the second half falls short of the first thanks to forced comedy and no cohesiveness in the whole plot.

You can say our director knows his target populace, with lines and scenes around the married couple connecting to family audiences, particularly for women, and they will find Aishwarya Rajesh’s character very relatable.
Conclusion
Entertaining with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam can surely be watched with family. The first half goes well with rather comprehensible and funny stuff and some performances. The problem? In the second half, the fun stops due to superfluous sequences and rather less follow-through in storylines. So if you are looking for a light-hearted family movie for this Sankranthi, this is something you might want to catch.
