The story of the film Sarfira is something like this : When the film is released, people will not be so happy but when they come to know that the film is based on real life. If the film is based on a biopic, then the fans will be happier. There are many films whose biopics have been made, including Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and recently released films like Chandu Champion are also biopics. After giving continuous flop films, Akshay Kumar has taken a good decision that he accepted the story of Sarfira
Perhaps this film can make him the Sultan of the box office. Sarfira is however a Hindi remake of Surya’s film Soorarai Pottru. You should give Akshay Kumar a chance and go and watch Sarfira.

- Sarfira is the story of Veer Jagannath Mhatre (played by Akshay Kumar), a middle-class man from a small village in Maharashtra with big dreams who decides to start a low-cost airline with the aim of breaking socio-economic and caste barriers. Rejecting the principles taught by his father, he realised that his father was not perfect, hence this led to a rift between the two men, when everything was black and white without various shades of grey like today. Thus due to discord on this matter, he decided to leave home, where he directly joined the Indian Air Force before quitting the post.
- After an argument, Vir leaves home to join the Indian Air Force and soon leaves that too, along with two of his batchmates, to fructify his dream. He pitches his idea to aviation tycoon Paresh Goswami (Paresh Rawal), who not only ridicules him but ends up becoming his arch-nemesis. Each time Vir’s dream to launch his airline (which he refers to as “udta hua Udupi hotel”), is about to see the light of the day, he encounters corruption, power play, red tapeism, betrayal, and class divide. How he overcomes all the challenges despite failing multiple times is what Sarfira keeps us hooked on.
- Kongara as a director is superb that the audience claps and weeps. The film is rather: based on the show – too similar at some points; however, the strong, intense emotions and well-thought plot maintain the viewers’ attention. The dialogues spoken by Pooja Tolani are a mix of emotional and funny which make the dialogues real. Since Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi have written the screenplay, its narration becomes a bit confusing because of the multiple time shifts; however, changing appearances of hero and his look help the viewers.
